Volac ASGold may be used in case of risk of, during periods of, or recovery from digestive Disturbance (diarrhoea). It contains a unique blend of electrolytes, glucose, natural plant fibres and pectins. It is easy to handle and can be fed in conjunction with the normal milk diet. It is an ideal first feed for bought-in calves.
For bought-in calves and for calves during periods of stress.
For the first feed or when stressful conditions are present:
Give 100g (2 level scoops) of Volac ASGOLD in 2 litres of water or 50g (1 level scoop) in 2 litres of milk/milk replacer,
After conditions have normalised Give 50g (1 level scoop) in approximately 2 litres of milk/milk replacer for 1-2 days,
For machine feeding, use 2.5kg of Volac ASGOLD dispersed in 25kg of dry milk replacer and feed as normal.
For calves showing moderate/severe digestive disturbance:
Day 1: Give 100g (2 level scoops) of Volac ASGOLD, reconstituted in 2 litres of water twice a day. Continue with scheduled milk feeds. Depending upon the degree of dehydration, this may be increased to 4 feeds, giving a total of 400g of Volac ASGOLD in 8 litres of water during the 24 hour period.
Day 2: Give 50g (1 level scoop) of Volac ASGOLD in 2 litres of milk or milk replacer, reconstituted at normal strength, morning and evening.
Day 3: Feed as normal.
For lambs
Mix 1gram of Volac ASGold into 40ml lamb milk replacer for each kg lamb liveweight (e.g. for a 5 kg lamb, mix 5g ASGold into 200ml milk replacer). If mixing into water, mix 1g ASGold into 20ml water for each kg lamb liveweight.
For piglets
Volac ASGold should be reconstituted with water as above and administered as a drench to scouring piglets at the rate of 1g/kg body weight twice daily.
Pre and post weaning piglets Volac ASGOLD should be offered in the dry form, sprinkled onto the creep/weaner. Feed at the rate of 1g/kg bodyweight (5-10g/day) to be offered freely to pre and post weaning piglets up to 6 weeks of age.
